Career Cluster
Description
This advanced course builds on the foundational skills from Metal Processing 1, equipping students with an in-depth understanding of CNC operations and advanced machine tool applications. Students will focus on practical skills in wire feed welding, machining, and fabrication techniques. Larger-scale projects, such as designing and constructing trailers, allow students to apply their skills in real-world scenarios, enhancing both precision and problem-solving abilities.
This course offers an opportunity to earn dual credit through Portland Community College's WLD 111 (Shielded Metal Arc Welding), enabling students to begin their college-level welding education. With a focus on preparing students for careers in manufacturing, machining, and fabrication, Metal Processing 2 combines technical skills with hands-on project experience.
