Mathematics
Every student must earn three or more math credits (Algebra 1 level or higher) to graduate and be college-eligible. As of Fall 2024 Oregon public universities no longer require Algebra 2 for admissions. All additional credit opportunities (as listed) satisfy admissions to Oregon public colleges and universities. However, requirements for private, out of state, and specific programs may have other requirements. Please verify with post-secondary institutions for their specific requirements.
There are multiple pathways available to students based on their post-high school plans. For those intending to attend college, advanced courses are highly recommended to prepare for the rigor of college mathematics.
Most math courses have recommended prerequisites to guide appropriate course selection. Students are advised to discuss their math options with their teacher or counselor to select the course(s) and paths that best fit their individual education goals and plans. College credit may be earned by taking AP or IB courses.
IB courses are offered at Hilhi only.
