Description

DLP Spanish Language Arts 9 is a continuation of the dual language program, which alternates between Latin American and Spanish Literature. This course follows the IBD curriculum cycling through the following skills: 1) Independent reading, class routines including fluency writing and error journal, forming and writing about interpretations of literary texts. 2) Developing strategies for working with challenging informational texts, working between texts, writing using information from multiple texts. 3) Building on work with challenging texts, literary interpretation, and examining structure of texts. 4) Working across text types and genres using a common interpretive lens, significant cross-textual work. 5) Reading and writing research-based reports, practicing research methods. 6) Examining how a particular work has been reinterpreted over time, significant interpretive and cross-textual work. Additionally, the course uses the study of a novel that examines the use of interpretation and comprehension with academic vocabulary that endures the exposition of a comparison essay.
