Social Communication Center - IEP

The Social Communication Center (SCC) is intended to provide a higher level of support than can typically be accomplished within a general education classroom in a sustainable manner. The goal of the program is to help students develop a deeper understanding of social relationships and social communication rules. Students will also understand more of their emotional and sensory needs, while accessing the core curriculum and general education setting to the maximum extent possible. Students who experience disabilities may need more assistance to become socially competent through direct instruction on how the social world works, and why specific skills are important in different contexts.
